The US warns Iran that changing the status quo in the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the agreement.

Jinse Finance reports that, on July 2, citing information from sources relayed by Saudi Arabia’s TV station, the United States has told Iran that it rejects any actions that would change the current status quo in the Strait of Hormuz. The source added that any move to alter the status quo would be regarded as a breach of the relevant agreements. The source noted that the United States believes Iran’s attitude and actions regarding the Strait of Hormuz issue are the first test of Iran’s commitment to fulfill its obligations under the agreements; any developments regarding Iran’s frozen funds will be conditional on Iran’s compliance with the agreements.
