Report: Anthropic is in talks with Samsung about custom AI chips.
On July 2, according to The Information citing three sources familiar with the matter, Anthropic has begun early work on independently developing AI chips and is negotiating with Samsung Electronics regarding a potential manufacturing partnership, following the approach of competitor OpenAI in an attempt to further control the costly computing systems behind its models.
