To celebrate the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return, the Hong Kong government and various sectors have launched various discounts in food, shopping, and entertainment. This year, over 3,400 restaurants offer discounts. As in previous years, secretaries and directors have formed teams to visit districts, enjoying the benefits with citizens and supporting local consumption.

In recent years, the Hong Kong government has been promoting Hong Kong as a "Muslim-friendly" tourist city, pushing for halal-certified food. Financial Secretary Paul Chan visited the Oi Keng Halal Wai Kee at Bowrington Market. Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Cheuk Wing-hing, Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong, and Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan continued their outing to a cha chaan teng in Sheung Wan, enjoying a 30% discount on the total bill. Cheuk said that with the 30% dine-in discount, the place was bustling, and citizens were all eating joyfully. Secretary for Health Lo Chung-mau and Under Secretary for Health Libby Fan also visited a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant. Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak and Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Leung Hung-ching went to a Chinese restaurant in Central for dim sum, also enjoying a 30% discount on the total bill. Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau and his Political Assistant visited McDonald's for coffee. He urged everyone to take their families out today, "eating, playing, and spending" along the way. Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong had lunch at a restaurant in the Cyberport mall in the afternoon. The restaurant joined the Cyberport incubation program in 2018 and cooperates with multiple local organizations.

Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun went to Yue Hwa Chinese Products in Jordan, buying health equipment and table tennis paddles at return anniversary discounted prices to balance work stress.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club also launched multiple special offers today. Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan attended the opening ceremony of the "Hong Kong Celebrates Return Race Day" at Sha Tin Racecourse.
