Spider-Man 4 | Tom Holland Takes on the Impossible with His Own Body

In the newly released behind-the-scenes featurette for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," Tom Holland excitedly reveals, "In this film, we did something really awesome—we recreated all the famous comic book covers!"

To perfectly capture iconic covers like Amazing Fantasy #15 and The Amazing Spider-Man in the movie, director Destin Daniel Cretton reveals that the team specifically used high-speed slow-motion camera technology at 420 frames per second. The director even admits that under such extreme high-speed capture, "for the actors to perform in this state, it's almost an impossible mission!"

The featurette also reveals for the first time the challenging wire work behind the scenes. At that moment, Tom Holland had to be violently yanked into the air by the wire at lightning speed, all while facing the camera and precisely executing the extreme backward bend of being hit by an enemy's uppercut combined with a Reverse Swan Dive.

The director praises Holland's incredible body control: "It made us realize anew how much control he has over every single muscle in his body. He only needed two or three takes to strike the perfect pose!" Holland also jokes that studying how to recreate these classic comic book poses was a lot of fun, and the resulting shots were "freaking amazing."
