BlockBeats News, July 2 - The South Korean stock market experienced a significant pullback today. The KOSPI index closed at 7,648.09 points, down 655.32 points, a drop of 7.89%. According to the Naver Finance KOSPI market cap page, the total market cap was about 6,758.9 trillion won. Based on the index decline, the KOSPI market lost about 578.96 trillion won in a single day, equivalent to about $371.6 billion.

In terms of individual stocks, semiconductor heavyweights led the decline, with Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, etc., falling sharply, dragging down the overall retreat of the South Korean stock market.
