Spider-Man 4 | “Spider-Man: Heroes Reborn” Tom Holland Perfectly Recreates Multiple Classic Comic Covers First Week Designated Screenings Go on Sale July 10 at 12:00 PM (Noon)
The superhero sequel Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 30. Today (June 30), the official team for the first time unveiled the latest production featurette, “Comic Cover Tribute.”
Lead actor Tom Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton personally break down how the film uses top-tier cinematography to perfectly recreate the highly difficult action poses from Marvel’s legendary comic book covers. At the same time, the official also announced the ticket-snatching news that fans are most looking forward to—designated showtimes from the first week will officially go on presale on July 10, along with an added limited-edition collection of merchandise.

Spider-Man 4 | Tom Holland Goes Physical to Take on the Impossible
In the newly released production featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland excitedly says: “In this film, we did something really great—that is, we restored every famous comic book cover!”
To capture and recreate in the film the classic covers audiences know well, including Amazing Fantasy #15 and The Amazing Spider-Man, director Destin Daniel Cretton reveals that the team specifically used high-speed slow-motion photography at 420 frames per second. The director even states, in this extreme high-speed capture, the actors: “almost impossible task” to perform and act in that state!
Spider-Man 4 | Perfect Uppercut Reenactment with an Aerial “Reverse Swan Dive”
The featurette also, for the first time, decodes the behind-the-scenes high-difficulty stunt of being suspended with wires. At the time, Tom Holland had to, in the split-second moment when he was violently yanked into the air by the wires at extreme speed, face the camera while precisely executing the extreme bending move of being hit by an enemy’s uppercut, and simultaneously performing the Reverse Swan Dive.
The director praised Tom Holland’s frightening physical control: “This let us see again just how strong his control is over every single muscle in his body. He only did it two or three times, and he nailed the perfect pose!” Tom Holland also joked that researching how to present these classic comic-book action sequences was extremely fun, and the resulting shots were “so spot-on it’s ridiculous.”
