Bikun.com News: US crypto ATM operators face new pressure as Tennessee and Georgia implement new regulations on July 1, leading to a wave of crypto ATM bans. These measures stem from state-level concerns over fraud complaints, scam losses, and cash-to-crypto conversions, increasing policy risks in the crypto market. Tennessee's new law prohibits the operation and installation of crypto ATMs statewide. The bill signed by Governor Bill Lee in April takes effect in July, with violators facing misdemeanor penalties. According to CoinATMRadar data, Tennessee had 185 crypto ATMs before the ban. Indiana signed emergency measures in March, becoming the first state to fully ban crypto ATMs, and Minnesota also plans to implement a ban on August 1. Georgia, on the other hand, chose restrictive measures, setting transaction limits and refund obligations, attempting to protect consumers while retaining access. Bankruptcy filings by Bitcoin ATM operators show that regulation is beginning to directly affect operators.

Georgia's compromise is interesting, with a cap + refund obligation, wanting to regulate but not completely kill it. Let's see how it works.

Tennessee's move is pretty ruthless, stopping 185 machines just like that, operators are about to cry.

Indiana took the lead, and now Tennessee is following suit. It feels like U.S. states are about to get competitive in the crypto ATM space.
