Hong Kong is entering the deep water zone of regulatory implementation on its path to building a global Web3 hub. With the Stablecoin Ordinance taking effect in August 2025 and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) issuing issuer licenses to two bank-backed institutions this April, the first batch of compliant stablecoins is set to debut in the second half of the year.
