Bank of America strategist: FOMC participants are willing to speak less, following Warsh’s wish to speak less

Abstract generation in progress
Jinse Finance reported that on July 1, Bank of America stated that the number of public appearances by Federal Reserve officials in the two weeks following the June policy meeting has significantly decreased, which could be an early signal that Chairman Warsh is implementing a lower-key communication strategy. Bank of America strategists pointed out that since the June FOMC meeting, including events scheduled through the end of this week, Fed officials have only delivered 12 speeches and interviews. In contrast, since 2022, the average number of appearances during the same two-week period after Fed meetings has been approximately 23. This may indicate that FOMC participants are following Warsh's preference for less speaking, but it could also be due to the July 4 holiday and Fed officials having nothing more to add to the guidance issued in June. Time will tell whether this is a new trend or just noise.
