Shenchao TechFlow news: On July 02, according to CoinDesk, FBI Director Kash Patel purchased shares of Strategy (MSTR), a company holding Bitcoin, on November 21, 2025 for $100,000 to $250,000, but did not disclose it to regulators until May 26, 2026—more than 6 months later—violating the 45-day disclosure deadline under the STOCK Act. Patel later explained to the Office of Government Ethics that the omission was unintentional due to “miscommunication.”

Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette of the government oversight group Project on Government Oversight directly denounced his conduct as “illegal” and called for a complete ban on federal officials trading stocks. In a letter dated May 28, Deputy Assistant Attorney General William Taylor said the transaction does not constitute a conflict of interest, and the DOJ has not yet imposed a fine on him.
