On June 26, 2026, the seventeenth meeting of the Intellectual Property Working Group under the Sub-Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation of the China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting Committee was held via video conference. Li Ming, Deputy Director General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce, co-chaired the meeting with Vladislav Mamontov, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation. Representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, the Central Propaganda Department, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, as well as representatives from the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Customs Administration, the Intellectual Property Court, and the Institute of Industrial Property of Russia attended the meeting. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on specific issues such as the latest developments in intellectual property legislation, enforcement, and judicial practices, as well as the protection of intellectual property in artificial intelligence and the combat against malicious trademark squatting. Both sides stated that the working group mechanism is an important guarantee for implementing the consensus on intellectual property cooperation in the "Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation on Further Strengthening Comprehensive Strategic Coordination and Deepening Good-Neighborly and Friendly Cooperation," and has played a positive role in enhancing communication and addressing concerns. China and Russia will continue to deepen communication and cooperation to promote the sustained and healthy development of bilateral economic and trade relations. (Ministry of Commerce)
