Investigative journalist Whitney Webb publishes an investigation series about the origins and ambitions of Polymarket. She stated that the official narrative of Polymarket — that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and started it in a bathroom — is not true. The origins of Polymarket can be traced back to the earlier company TokenBnk and are associated with Israel-related crypto projects. Webb said that the first part of the series will review the early history of Polymarket and discuss its potential connections to Peter Thiel-aligned forces and DARPA's early prediction market projects.

Polymarket's bathroom startup story, if it's fake, then this marketing campaign is really ridiculous.

If Shayne Coplan's public persona collapses, it will deal a significant blow to trust in decentralized prediction markets.

DARPA is involved now? This gossip has gone from the crypto space all the way to the military-industrial complex.

I've never heard of the name TokenBnk. If I dig deeper, it won't lead back to the intelligence community, right?
