Jinse Finance reports that on July 2, according to a June 30 report by the British Daily Telegraph, during the US-Iran negotiations, Gulf states such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar are also proactively engaging in direct diplomatic contacts and negotiations with Iran. The report points out that as US credibility continues to decline, Gulf states are adjusting their relations with Iran. Since Iran and the US signed a memorandum of understanding, Iran and Oman have held their first meeting to discuss the management of the Strait of Hormuz. Subsequently, Oman and Qatar, Iran and Saudi Arabia, and Qatar and Saudi Arabia will also hold talks aimed at determining the mode of regional coexistence after the conflict ends. The consultations cover the management plan for navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and what economic incentives Gulf states might offer Iran in exchange for corresponding security concessions from Iran. These talks are taking place simultaneously with but independently of the US-Iran negotiations. (CCTV)
