The 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Spokespersons Dialogue was held in Beijing on June 29. More than 20 spokespersons from China and Central and Eastern European countries gathered together to engage in in-depth exchanges on the theme of "Press Briefing and Modernization Process." Participants expressed that the friendly relations between China and Central and Eastern European countries have a long history and remain fresh over time, with broad and high-quality cooperation across various fields, which has promoted common development and enhanced the well-being of the people. Both China and Central and Eastern European countries attach great importance to press briefings, especially against the backdrop of a complex and changing international situation, iterative upgrading of artificial intelligence, and rapid evolution of the media ecology. The importance of releasing authoritative information through press briefings has become increasingly prominent, and strengthening experience sharing and dialogue exchanges is of positive significance for enhancing understanding and making joint progress. Participants believed that spokespersons should play a bridging and bonding role, vividly tell the stories of each country's modernization development, showcase the achievements of China-Central and Eastern European cooperation, convey the concepts of peace, development, cooperation, and win-win, and inject positive energy into regional peace, stability, and prosperity. Participants advocated for improving the information release mechanism for public emergencies, enhancing the professionalism of crisis communication, and effectively responding to the concerns of all parties through proactive, timely, accurate, and authoritative information releases. Participants supported exploring the reasonable application of artificial intelligence in information release, dissemination, and other fields, and reiterated adherence to journalistic ethics and professional standards to maintain the authority and credibility of press briefings. Participants proposed to institutionalize and normalize the China-Central and Eastern European Countries Spokespersons Dialogue, promote pragmatic exchanges, facilitate people-to-people exchanges, strengthen mutual learning, and continuously improve professional capabilities and cooperation levels. The dialogue was hosted by the State Council Information Office. The spokespersons from Central and Eastern European countries will also visit Beijing, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and other places. (Xinhua)
