The Iran Doha talks indicate that the United States has violated its commitments under the memorandum of understanding, and that it will establish a monitoring mechanism to review violations.
Local time July 1, it was learned that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Iranian technical negotiation delegation, Gharibabadi, stated that during the trilateral talks held in Doha on the same day between Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan, the Iranian delegation raised and reviewed the United States' violation of its commitments under Article 1 of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding regarding ending the war in Lebanon, and discussed reports on the US strengthening its military equipment and troop deployment in the region, as well as some threatening and interventionist remarks by US officials. The Iranian delegation emphasized during the talks that the commitments in the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding form an integral whole and cannot be viewed separately.
Gharibabadi announced that a monitoring group will be established to report and review violations related to the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding through direct communication channels. He noted that in meetings with Qatari central bank officials and others, the Iranian delegation decided to use part of the $6 billion in unfrozen funds to purchase necessary supplies based on Iran's needs. He also clarified that "the Iranian and US delegations did not hold a meeting in Doha."
The US side has not yet responded to this.
Local time July 1, sources told China Media Group that the US and Iran were holding indirect technical talks in Doha, Qatar, with Qatar and Pakistan serving as mediators.
Sources said that at least three working groups in Doha are conducting technical discussions covering issues such as nuclear matters, diplomacy, and the return of financing and frozen funds.
Other sources indicated that the talks focus on implementing the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, with discussions including topics such as ensuring maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.
