I deeply apologize for a traffic incident involving me on the campus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong a few days ago, which has sparked public discussion and caused inconvenience to the Legislative Council, the university authorities, and all sectors.

The incident has now been handed over to the police and relevant government departments for follow-up and handling in accordance with normal procedures. I will fully cooperate with the investigation.

CUHK: Aware of faculty member's arrest, no comment for now as police investigation is ongoing
