According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, Meta is developing a cloud infrastructure business plan aimed at selling AI computing power and model access to external customers, competing with cloud giants such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. The sources said Meta's proposed strategy includes: first, selling access to its AI models through a cloud platform, similar to AWS Bedrock; second, directly selling "raw" computing power access, operating in a manner similar to new cloud service providers like CoreWeave. The plan aims to turn Meta’s expensive data centers and chip infrastructure built to support its own AI into a revenue source. The plan is still being formulated, and specific strategies may change. Possibly affected by this news, Meta's stock rose more than 10% during trading hours.
