A man was attacked with scissors in a unit on the 10th floor of Cheung Fai Building, No. 22 Tong Mi Road, Mong Kok, in the afternoon. He was seriously injured and fell into a coma. He was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for emergency treatment, but ultimately died. Police arrested two suspects. Reports indicate that the attacker was a friend of the deceased. No knife wounds or scissor injuries were found on the deceased. The motive for the attack is still under investigation.

Separately, this morning, police received a report that an unpleasant odor was emanating from a unit on the 3rd floor of Butterfly Dance House in Butterfly Estate. Firefighters arrived, forced entry by breaking down the door, and found a man in his 40s lying unconscious outside the bathroom. His death was confirmed on the spot. Sources said the man lived alone. Police found bloodstains in the unit on the ground floor, and there were also signs of a struggle and ransacking at the scene. The case has so far been classified as a corpse discovery incident.
