Mars Finance News, July 1st, Fed Chair Warsh sidestepped the question of whether the Fed might raise interest rates at its July meeting. "I hope that when we meet in four weeks, we can have a full internal family debate," he said. "When we meet behind closed doors, we will have a heated debate. But beyond that, I have no further information to disclose."

Warsh made these remarks at the European Central Bank's annual policy symposium in Sintra, Portugal; this was his first public appearance since his first Fed press conference last month. Since then, investors have begun to expect more rate hikes from the Fed, but the market currently sees a less than 50% chance of a rate hike this month. (Jin Shi)
