Australia is doubling fines for parents who fail to comply with a social media ban for children aged under 16. This move, effective July 1, aims to protect young people's mental health, following concerns about excessive screen time. The new penalty will be AU$4,000 (US$2,800), up from AU$2,000 (US$1,400).
