Supreme Court Lets President Fire SEC, CFTC Commissioners

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on June 29 that the president can dismiss commissioners of independent agencies such as the SEC and CFTC. The case stemmed from FTC Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter's lawsuit after President Trump announced her dismissal in March of last year. The ruling excludes Federal Reserve governors and is considered relevant to crypto because Slaughter's husband is Paradigm's vice president of policy.
