>> Leading MLCC maker Yageo raises prices…distributors confirm it is "true"

• Market rumors say passive component giant Yageo sent price adjustment notices to customers. According to these reports, the company immediately raised prices across its full range of capacitor products, including tantalum capacitors, MLCCs, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, solid aluminum capacitors, film capacitors, and supercapacitors.
• The products covered by this price increase account for roughly 50% of Yageo's total revenue, and for the first time direct customers such as EMS and OEM firms are included in the scope of the increase.
• A reporter contacted several Yageo distributors, including Dongguan Chaoxiang Electronics and Shenzhen Hefengxin Technology, to verify the news. All confirmed that Yageo's price increase across its full capacitor lineup is true. They explained that since the increase applies not only to distributors but also to direct customers, it amounts to a simultaneous rise in both spot and contract prices.
• A representative from Shenzhen Hefengxin Technology said the official price increase from the original manufacturer is around 50%, and that the increase in spot market prices will likely be even larger. He added that while this round of increases was formally announced by the manufacturer, spot market prices have actually been rising continuously since May of this year, and that for some high end capacitor products, prices have risen by as much as nearly tenfold within a single month.
• He also noted that delivery delays have recently become frequent, and that lead time delays are appearing not only at Yageo but across major MLCC brands more broadly.
