Guo Wengui Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for $1 Billion H-Coin Fraud Case

On July 1, a U.S. judge sentenced Chinese businessman Guo Wengui (MILES GUO), who has ties to former Trump advisor, to 30 years in prison. In addition to the lengthy prison sentence, Guo was ordered to forfeit nearly $900 million in illegal gains, as well as his mansion in New Jersey and several luxury cars including Rolls-Royces and Bugattis. In 2024, a jury found him guilty of multiple charges including extortion, fraud, and money laundering in a series of previous cases. Guo orchestrated a complex fraud scheme over five years, involving more than $1 billion. He launched the fraudulent cryptocurrency project Himalaya Coin (H-Coin) in 2021, falsely claiming that the token was backed by 20% gold and promising to fully reimburse investors for their losses, thereby illegally raising approximately $500 million.
