International Maritime Organization Secretary-General: Hoping to Complete Evacuation of Strait of Hormuz Within Weeks

International Maritime Organization Secretary-General Domínguez said in an interview with reporters on the 24th that the IMO is closely coordinating with regional countries, the shipping industry, and relevant international partners, hoping to complete the evacuation of the vast majority of ships within the next few weeks. The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman and is one of the world's key energy transport routes. On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran. Affected by the conflict, a large number of commercial ships and seafarers are stranded in the strait and surrounding waters. (Xinhua News Agency)
