Chinese-built Uruguay Chamberlain substation put into operation

The first group of transformers at the Zhangberlin Substation in Uruguay, constructed by China Machinery Engineering Corporation, began supplying power on the 24th, marking the official commissioning of the entire substation. Located in the Tacuarembó Department of Uruguay, the Zhangberlin Substation is an important node in Uruguay’s 500 kV power transmission and transformation ring network project. Spanning 5 provinces, the project mainly includes the construction of a new 500 kV substation, the expansion of an existing 500 kV substation, and the construction of about 355 kilometers of 500 kV single-circuit lines, with overall completion expected in September this year.
