Journalists learned from China Railway 14th Bureau Group that on the 25th, at the tunneling site of the "Xiajin" shield machine in the Huandao Road Tunnel of the Xiamen-Kinmen Bridge (Xiamen Section), a domestically produced intelligent shield cutter-changing robot was officially put into use. It is understood that the robot has 11 independently controllable articulated joints, offering high obstacle-avoidance capability and fine manipulation ability. With a load capacity of 500 kilograms and a flexible telescoping structure, it can cover the entire cutterhead of shield machines ranging from 10-meter to 18-meter class diameters, easily grabbing heavy disc cutters and accurately completing replacements. The robot's entire machine, both software and hardware, is 100% domestically produced and has fully independent intellectual property rights. (Xinhua News Agency)
