Anthropic Releases Claude Sonnet 5 AI Model
Anthropic has launched Claude Sonnet 5, its most agentic Sonnet model, with improvements in reasoning, tool use, coding, and knowledge work, approaching the performance of Claude Opus 4.8 at a lower price.
The model features a 1 million token context window and offers a limited-time promotional price: through August 31, input is $2 per million tokens and output is $10 per million tokens.
Claude Sonnet 5 is now the default model for Free and Pro users on Claude Platform, API, and Claude Code, and has been integrated into tools such as GitHub Copilot, Notion, Cursor, and Devin.
