$BTC If I asked you what the phrase “do not be among those who transgress” means to you, most of you would give clichéd answers about what it means. So let’s touch on this a bit. I’ll warn you in advance—your mind might get a little confused—because our perspective and what we see differ greatly from yours.

How well do you know ALLAH, or what does ALLAH want from you and from us? Why was this art of creation done? What does the definition and introduction of life in this world and the hereafter signify?

You could learn the main theme—what a book of 1,000 or 10,000 pages is trying to convey—in just 3 moves without reading it all. With only 3 moves: the beginning is mercy, the middle is blessing, and the end is forgiveness.

Now let’s come to the main subject. Since ALLAH is the possessor of infinite Mercy, He does not punish a guilty person immediately. He grants respite—He gives time—so that it is hoped the person will realize their mistake and apologize, meaning to repent. So He always gives an opportunity.

This is the will that the Creator grants to His creation—what we call the will (İrade)—leaving the decision that will lead to the outcome to a person’s own consent, under their own will.

Now I ask the real question: in your view, did Iblis come to ALLAH just once—just because of a single mistake? Was the outcome of this entire test of the world like that? Was it that way—was Iblis’s refusal to prostrate to Adam (peace be upon him) his first objection to the command? Or did he commit corruption and become among those who transgressed before that?

So then: how many times had this “transgressing” occurred for Iblis against ALLAH? Iblis was a jinn created from fire, and he used to teach (instruct or educate) other jinn. He was the very embodiment of arrogance—arrogance gradually engulfed his entire soul, to the point where he found within himself the audacity to associate partners with ALLAH.

Now this might come to mind: but ALLAH knows the Eternal and the Everlasting—didn’t He know these behaviors of Iblis? Of course He knew.

Then another question might come to mind: but angels always obey commands and never commit sin. Yes, but Iblis is not an angel. He is a jinn.

ALLAH said: “We created humans and jinn only so that they would worship Me.” So that means that, just like humans, jinn also have a nafs with free choice—i.e., the process by which the nafs makes the decision that leads to the outcome.

From all I’ve explained, what do you understand when I ask “what answer will you find?” The right answer you will reach is actually this: you will discover what ALLAH wants from you and from us. Focus well—you will find what is asked of you.
