Coin World News: The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a public consultation on how the new types of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) should be regulated, as multiple prediction market ETF applications are still under review. The SEC wants market participants to provide feedback on how to support innovation and capital formation while protecting investors. At present, applications from asset management firms such as Roundhill, Bitwise, and Graniteshares are still pending, and the SEC is assessing whether current securities rules apply to these funds. The SEC also asked questions about whether funds holding non-securities assets comply with the Investment Company Act and has questioned existing ETF listing procedures.
