US media: Internal divisions in Iran are jeopardizing peace talks.

JinSe Finance reported that on June 30, according to the Wall Street Journal, informed officials revealed that internal power struggles within Iran are threatening US-Iran peace negotiations: civilian leaders seek to unfreeze billions of dollars in assets, while hardline military officials strive to control the Strait of Hormuz. Civilian leaders, led by Iranian President Pezeshkian, aim to unfreeze billions of dollars in funds to alleviate the hardships faced by millions of Iranians. However, other factions, including the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which now dominate Iran, have different plans. The IRGC intends to maintain complete control over this key strait at all costs and plans to establish a lucrative toll collection mechanism that would both strengthen the armed forces' finances and dominate the security landscape of the entire region. The IRGC has informed mediators that if they do not obtain guarantees regarding Iran's exclusive control over the Strait of Hormuz in the Doha negotiations, they will close the waterway again. In addition, the organization has demanded that the United States and other countries abandon plans to send ships through the southern waters of the strait (near the Omani side).
