Several directions to focus on in July – a complete layout before earnings season

1. Mag 7 (Watch for short covering potential)
If market positioning remains cautious, a round of short covering may occur before earnings. This line is not my main position focus, but sentiment repair ahead of earnings is worth noting, especially for the names that have been beaten down hard earlier.
2. Memory
Core target: DRAM
Two key dates to remember: July 10th for SK Hynix ADR listing, July 23rd for SK Hynix earnings.
The DRAM sector has gradually stabilized after recent pullbacks. With Hynix ADR and earnings approaching, the market will focus on HBM demand, price trends, and second-half capex guidance. Memory remains one of the most certain parts of this entire AI infrastructure narrative.
3. Semiconductor Equipment
Core targets: AMAT, LRCX
As Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron continue to expand capacity, upstream semiconductor equipment is poised for a new cycle. HBM's demand for advanced process equipment like etching and deposition is significantly higher than traditional DRAM, so this sector deserves close monitoring.
4. Interconnect / Memory Pooling / CXL
Core targets: MRVL, ALAB, CRDO, PENG
As AI clusters scale up, industry focus is shifting from pure compute accumulation to improving memory utilization and overall cluster efficiency. High-speed interconnect, CXL, and memory pooling will become an important direction in the next phase of AI infrastructure.
5. Optical Communication / Network Infrastructure
Core targets: GLW, COHR, NOK
Earnings from July to August will further validate whether AI optical interconnect, data center network upgrades, and carrier capex are truly materializing.
6. CPU
Core targets: INTC, AMD, ARM
These stocks have been relatively strong recently, with capital starting to refocus on the CPU sector. The next step is to see if earnings and product progress can continue to reinforce this logic. This line is still in the validation phase.
7. Cybersecurity
Core target: $CRWD
As AI becomes more widespread, the importance of cybersecurity continues to rise. Whether it's AI agents, cloud computing, or enterprise digitization, security capabilities are essential as a foundational safeguard. This is a track worth holding long-term.
