Zcash's new nonprofit Sovright has launched a wallet recovery tool called Argos to help early Zcash users recover funds trapped in shielded addresses due to the discontinuation of the old ZEC Wallet Lite in 2022. Sovright Executive Chair Michelle Lai stated that Argos is aimed at users who still hold the mnemonic phrases of their old wallets, but the exact number of affected addresses cannot be confirmed at this time; the scale of the involved funds is considered "significant," primarily affecting early and long-term Zcash supporters. Sovright is a new organization formed after a governance dispute between Zcash research and development company Electric Coin Company (ECC) and the nonprofit governance body Bootstrap. (The Block)
