Iran's Acting Defense Minister: Will Closely Monitor Ceasefire Implementation, "Unhesitatingly" Respond to Violations, Hormuz Strait Should Not Be a Tool for External Countries to Intervene in Regional Affairs

According to a report by Iran's Tasnim News Agency on June 30, Iran's Acting Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani stated that day that Iran will closely monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and if the agreement is violated, Iran will "unhesitatingly" take responsive measures.

During a phone call with Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah on the same day, Ashtiani said that Iran remains vigilant against enemies at all times, and if any violation of the ceasefire agreement occurs, "we will unhesitatingly take appropriate and necessary actions and responses."

He also emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz should not become a tool for external countries to intervene in regional affairs, and the presence of foreign military forces in the region does not contribute to enhancing security but may instead increase miscalculations, mistrust, and insecurity.
