Jinse Finance reports that on June 30, according to expectations of economists surveyed by data provider Quick, the Bank of Japan's Tankan business sentiment survey, to be released on Wednesday, is expected to show a slight deterioration but has largely been unaffected by the negative impact of the Middle East conflict.
The diffusion index measuring business sentiment among large manufacturers is expected to be +16 in the June survey, compared to +17 in March.
Ryosuke Katagi, economist at Mizuho Securities, said: "Although business sentiment in the materials sector is believed to have deteriorated due to soaring resource prices and supply shortages caused by the situation in Iran, sentiment in the processing sector may have improved thanks to strong semiconductor-related demand."
