Only after being liquidated did I realize: those who don't know how to stop loss will eventually give their principal to the market. #0成本拿2股SK海力士
Why do so many people trade futures only to end up liquidated?
It's not because of poor skills, but because they don't know how to stop loss.
Today, a friend messaged me privately saying he didn't set a stop loss on his trade, and when he woke up, his position was completely wiped out. $UB
This reminds me of myself when I first started trading futures.
Back then, I always thought the market would come back.
Losing 10%, I'd think about waiting a bit longer; losing 20%, I'd comfort myself that it was just a pullback; in the end, what came wasn't a rebound but liquidation.
Over the years, I've seen too many people go from tens of thousands of U to hundreds of thousands of U, only to give all their profits and principal back to the market because of one time they held on.
Later, I truly understood one thing:
Liquidation never happens in an instant; it starts with the words "wait a little longer."
Now, in my trades, I stick to three principles. $RIF
First, think about stop loss before opening a position.
I set the risk in advance for every trade; if there's no place for a stop loss, I'd rather not open the trade. #Strategy拟回购股票涨超12%
Second, protect profits once you have them.
When the market moves as expected, I keep moving my stop loss up to gradually lock in floating profits.
It's okay to make less money, but I must never let profits turn back into losses.
Third, stop when emotions run high.
After consecutive losses, don't add positions to try to recover.
After consecutive wins, don't blindly increase position sizes.
Real masters don't compete on who makes money the fastest, but on who lasts the longest.
The biggest lesson I've learned over the years is:
Stop loss is not admitting defeat; it's leaving principal for the next opportunity.
The market offers opportunities every day. $AEVO
Without principal, no matter how good the market is, it has nothing to do with you.
Remember one thing:
Better to exit with a small loss than to be liquidated all at once.
Because what truly determines whether you can make big money is not a single trade, but whether you can keep your seat at the table.
