Yen Hits 40-Year Low as Suzuki Keeps Intervention Tone Stable

The yen fell to its lowest level against the U.S. dollar since 1986. Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said Japan was ready to take appropriate action when necessary. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi also said Japan would take appropriate action in the foreign exchange market when necessary.
