Melius initiates buy rating, driving Western Digital up 12%
Western Digital (WDC) rose 11.86% in a single day, closing at $654.68, easing the pressure from short squeeze on-chain whales. Previously, it shorted the entire storage chain with 10x leverage at an average price of $642.35, with a position of approximately $6.71 million, liquidation line at $673.41, only 2.9% away from the current price. Large short positions amount to about $6.7 million, 2.66 times the long positions. In terms of analysis, Melius initiated with a Buy and a target of $1,050; Cantor Fitzgerald maintained a Buy with a target of $900, with recent quarterly revenue up 45% year-over-year.
