The Korean won has weakened against the U.S. dollar due to continued selling of local stocks by foreign investors. The won hit its lowest level since 2009 on Monday, closing at 1,545.2 won per dollar. On Tuesday, it opened at 1,543.1 won per dollar but fell to as low as 1,549.4 won per dollar during morning trading. Meanwhile, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index rose 0.68 percent to 8,451.78 as of 9:15 a.m.
