South Korean President Lee Jae-myung held a meeting at the presidential office, Cheong Wa Dae, on the 29th, announcing a government investment plan and support scheme for semiconductors, physical artificial intelligence (AI), and AI data centers totaling over a thousand trillion won. According to the plan, the South Korean government's total investment in cutting-edge technology fields such as AI and semiconductors will reach 1,461 trillion won (approximately 227 won to 1 yuan), of which 800 trillion won will be used to invest in semiconductor production bases in the southwestern region of South Korea, 81 trillion won will be invested in the high-bandwidth memory (HBM) packaging base in the Chungcheong region, 550 trillion won will be invested in AI data centers, and 30 trillion won will be invested in next-generation semiconductor R&D.
