World Advanced: It is expected that the 8-inch wafer foundry market will remain in short supply in 2026.

Jinse Finance reports that on June 29, Fang Lue, Chairman of Vanguard International Semiconductor, said the 8-inch wafer foundry market is overall showing a supply-demand shortfall this year. As of now, it appears customer demand will remain strong, with order visibility at the level of 3 to 5 months. It is expected that the 8-inch wafer foundry market will continue to face shortages in August 2026. In addition, the new Singapore plant produced its first batch of 40nm trial-production chips in early June, with yields exceeding 99%. Mass production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
