BlockBeats news, June 29, on the 29th local time, Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released relevant content from a recent interview with Foreign Minister Badr. Badr stated that Oman has always been committed to ensuring a safe, peaceful, and free navigation environment in the Strait of Hormuz for all parties. He pointed out that Oman and Iran have reached a consensus in ongoing dialogues, and any future arrangements involving the Strait of Hormuz must be carried out within the framework of international law.

Regarding the transit fee issue that has drawn external attention, Badr said that Oman does not support imposing transit fees on ships passing through, but he did not rule out the possibility of exploring mechanisms related to maritime services. Badr said that issues such as enhancing navigation safety, improving emergency response capabilities for maritime accidents, and preventing marine pollution can be discussed, and practices from other straits can be referenced in this regard. He stated that such arrangements would be formulated in consultation with countries and shipping companies that use the Strait of Hormuz waterway, with the aim of improving maritime services and ensuring navigation safety, rather than adding new burdens to global trade.
