The top scorers in the Beijing Gaokao open blind boxes every year. It is currently known that among the top 20, 10 are from Haidian, 6 from Xicheng, 2 from Chaoyang, and 1 each from Dongcheng and Changping.

Beijing Gaokao is no longer a model where everyone goes to Peking University or Tsinghua. Back then, talents from various provinces stayed in Beijing, and the "second-generation exam takers" gradually grew up. From a young age, the intense competition education is in full swing. The Keshi Building near my home is one of the top after-school tutoring bases in Haidian.
Take my son's school, a first-tier second-level elementary school in Haidian, as an example. Some of his classmates can do the Gaokao English paper, and many can do the Zhongkao English paper. I feel that in the end, it's highly likely they will inherit the 985/211 legacy. For ordinary local children in Beijing, they are likely to be diverted to secondary vocational schools or technical schools after the Zhongkao. The Beijing Gaokao is really not easy anymore..
