Prudential announced that, following its earlier collaboration with Union Hospital to provide direct payment services for medical expenses, it has further deepened the strategic partnership by joining hands with Union Oncology Centre under the hospital to offer oncology-related direct payment services for eligible Prudential customers. This cooperation further expands the coverage of Prudential's medical network in the field of oncology treatment and enhances the convenience and completeness of oncology-related medical support, allowing customers to receive more reassuring support during treatment.

Prudential's 2025 Individual Life Insurance Claims Report indicates that cancer poses the greatest threat to health, ranking first among the causes of critical illness claims and death claims last year. On the other hand, according to the latest statistics from the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, on average one person is diagnosed with cancer every 14 minutes in Hong Kong; among them, the chance of men developing cancer before the age of 75 is as high as 25%, and for women it is 20%, reflecting that cancer has become quite common and poses a major threat to the health of local residents, also imposing a heavy financial burden on patients and their families.

Eligible Prudential customers can consult Union Oncology Centre in advance about the relevant medical expense budget before receiving cancer treatment; the centre will assist in submitting a pre-approval application for medical expenses to Prudential according to the customer's needs. If the case is approved, Prudential will directly pay the approved medical expenses to the centre after the treatment is completed. Customers do not need to pay the relevant expenses in advance. This arrangement helps relieve immediate cash flow pressure, allowing patients to focus on treatment and recovery.

Ouyang Peiling, Chief Customer Operations and Health Protection Business Director of Prudential Insurance, stated that by extending the direct payment service for medical expenses to eligible treatments at Union Oncology Centre, Prudential is committed to reducing customers' psychological and financial stress during treatment, enabling them to focus more on recovery with greater peace of mind.
