Abstract generation in progress

The ICBC Asia Charitable Fund and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups jointly launched Hong Kong's first "Youth Carbon Reduction Platform" with an event day at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, featuring an achievement award ceremony and low-carbon workshops, marking the successful conclusion of the three-year plan.

Since its launch in 2023, the project has adopted a dual approach combining an innovative online platform and campus-based physical activities, gathering nearly 17k students and 20 primary and secondary schools to jointly promote a low-carbon lifestyle, with cumulative carbon reduction exceeding 2.87 million kilograms, equivalent to the carbon dioxide absorption of 40,000 trees over three years.

James Zhan, Senior Business Director and General Manager of the Financial Markets Department of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) and Director of the ICBC Asia Charitable Fund, stated that the bank firmly believes the younger generation is a vital force in achieving this goal. The "Youth Carbon Reduction Platform" is not just a recording tool but also integrates the creative thinking and collective action of young people, embedding environmental protection into campus, family, and community life, forming a virtuous cycle of "parent-child co-learning and school-community linkage." It further cultivates their sense of social responsibility, providing a continuous driving force for the long-term development of the country and Hong Kong.
