According to Digital Asset, on the 29th, the Seoul Southern District Court in South Korea issued a first-instance verdict in the case accusing Li, the actual operator of QBZ (QueenBeeCoin) operator QueenBeeCompany, of assisting a shaman, Jeon Seong-bae (Monk Geonjin), in violating the Political Funds Act. Li and the other 4 defendants were all found not guilty. The court held that the 100 million won in this case could not be determined to be political funds, and the relevant funds had not been proven to have been actually delivered to related figures of the People Power Party, including Freedom Korea Party lawmaker Yoon Han-hong. The accused Jeon Seong-bae was also acquitted of the fraud-related charges. In addition, Li is also involved in other cases, including a 300 billion won-scale cryptocurrency fraud, bribing the media, and intentionally disclosing the police’s possession of BTC, which are still under review.

Although Li is acquitted this time, the 30 billion yuan fraud case is still under trial, and it feels like he’s only temporarily gotten away from the situation.

This ruling is interesting. If 100 million won is not political funds, then what is?

QueenBeeCoin sounds untrustworthy, but the operator ended up being fine.

Quan Chengpei is innocent of fraud? This case is too deep, waiting for the follow-up.

South Korean courts have always had a pretty hard-to-figure-out approach to sentencing in crypto-related cases.
