Jinse Finance reports that on June 29, citing sources familiar with the matter, U.S. pipeline operator Williams Companies is in advanced talks to acquire rival natural gas pipeline operator Momentum Midstream for approximately $5.5 billion. According to the report, the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company is finalizing deal details to acquire Momentum from private equity firm EnCap Flatrock Midstream, adding that the transaction could be announced within about a week. The deal would give Williams additional transportation capacity to deliver Haynesville shale gas to export terminals on the U.S. Gulf Coast. The report said no final decision has been made yet, and EnCap may still choose to retain the company.
