Samsung and SK Group to Announce a $1.3 Trillion Investment Plan


The announcement will be released at 2:00 PM local time on Monday at the Office of the President of South Korea.
Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won will each personally brief South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on their respective investment plans.
According to reports, the plan includes:
Samsung: Build 4 to 5 new semiconductor wafer fabs in the Gwangju area, and construct a chip packaging plant in South Chungcheong Province.
SK Hynix: Build 4 to 5 new semiconductor wafer fabs in the Gwangju area, and expand the NAND factory located in North Chungcheong Province.
