Mars Finance news: according to Reuters, the Austrian government has proposed that the EU consider bringing the AI company Anthropic into its territory in response to the U.S. moves to restrict foreign users from accessing the most advanced AI models. In a public letter to the EU’s Commissioner for Technology, Alexander Proell, Austria’s State Secretary for Digitalization, urged the EU to work together to explore Anthropic’s strategic layout in Europe and ways for it to participate there, and to provide it with legal safeguards, market access, and capital support. He emphasized that Europe must ensure it is not excluded from major technological innovations, striving to become the architect of the technological future rather than a passive recipient. It is understood that the European Commission proposed a related bill earlier this month, aiming to boost the local cloud computing, AI, and semiconductor industries and reduce reliance on U.S. technology giants. At present, Anthropic has not responded to the proposal.
