According to Reuters citing the Financial Times, due to insufficient computing power, Google has restricted Meta’s access to its Gemini AI model. Google reportedly notified Meta around March 2026 that it could not meet all the computing resources Meta required, leading to delays in multiple internal AI projects at Meta. Meta has asked employees to use AI tokens more efficiently to conserve resources. Other Google customers have also been affected, but to a lesser extent, while Meta has taken the brunt of it first, due to its significantly greater demand for computing resources.
