In the past, I used to upgrade my Apple portable products every year.

Anyway, Apple Pay is interest-free for 12 months—one upgrade per year—so the holding cost is pretty much the same.
However, seeing Apple’s utterly ridiculous price increases today, even the Apple TV that barely anyone uses has gone up by 50%, speakers are up by 30%, and there’s a good chance that even if storage cycles change, prices won’t be lowered again afterward—basically, it’s disguised inflation.
So I decided: I won’t upgrade anymore.
Wait until 2030—at the very least, 2028—then we’ll see.
By then, AGI will probably have come out, and nobody will need to mess around with phones anymore. Everyone will have a box of memory and enter the silicon-based world.
Thank you, everyone.
